A RUGBY club celebrated a successful fireworks display that went off without a hitch.
The Deepings Rugby Club held its annual extravaganza on Friday and about 800 people turned out to enjoy the show.
The rain held off on a mild night, and the extra money the club put in to the display this year paid off.
Club chairman Mark Owen said: “We had a fantastic display this year. We invested a bit more money and we have had some hugely positive feedback.
“The initial estimate is that we raised about £4,000 which will be split between the club and the Rotary Club of the Deepings once the costs have been taken off.”
Spectators could also enjoy a mini fairground with rides and stalls, and hot food and drink.
Mr Owen added: “People come down and seem to enjoy it. Four or five years ago people had left by 10pm but this year they stuck around longer.
“It’s a good family night out and was a massive success.”
