A BAND has penned a protest song after a bid to protect Lincolnshire sausages was turned down.
The Lincolnshire Sausage Association is considering whether to appeal after it’s bid for Protected Geographical Indication for the banger was refused by the Department for Food, Environment and Rural Affairs.
The status would have meant that only sausages produced in the county of a specific quality could have been sold under the title of Lincolnshire sausages.
Lincolnshire-based band The Ruffs was outraged at the decision and recorded the Lincolnshire Sausage Protest Song.
