Spate of thefts in Rutland and Stamford area




Thieves have been targetting villages in the Rutland and Stamford area.

On Sunday, February 21, between 8am and 12pm, a purse was stolen from under a seat in a car in Ingthorpe Lane, Tinwell.

That night a lock was broken to a shed door in Luffenham Road, Ketton. Nothing was taken.

A parcel left outside a house in Brooke Road, Oakham, was stolen just after 10.50am on Tuesday last week (February 23). It contained a laptop worth about £600.

A vehicle was stolen from Morcott Tyre and Exhaust between 3pm on Monday last week (February 22) and 7am the following day. Anyone with information on the thefts should call 101.

The parcel theft has the crime reference 21*0109273.
