Stamford police inspector urges people to follow lockdown rules and 'think about saving lives'




With local hospital intensive care units full, police and council chiefs are asking people to understand the importance of the current lockdown.

Unlike the first, which brought deserted roads and quiet town centres, the second, four-week national lockdown has not had the same effect on the area.

And while police have recorded a significant decline in late-night trouble because of pubs and bars being closed, they are taking a stronger line with those ignoring coronavirus rules.
