Catmose College pupil, 20, buys first Rolls Royce

A former Catmose College pupil who admits he 'failed' academically has bought his first Rolls Royce at the age of 20.

Cormac Boylan spent £4,000 on the 1989 Silver Spirit because he felt this was "the year to go and buy one".

Having worked since leaving school as a motoring journalist for What Car? and Autocar, and as a local radio DJ, he was able to buy the Rolls for himself, but said he "doesn't like to talk about" the high cost of the insurance.

Despite doing only 12 miles to the gallon, since picking up the car he has used it to do the normal things 20 year-olds might do.

"I took my mum to Aldi supermarket, although it was quite tricky to park because it's so big," he laughed. "I also went through a McDonald's 'drive thru' - and people were taking photos."

His other car is a Vauxhall Corsa, which he agrees is more practical but he is already eyeing a Porsche or Maserati as his next set of wheels.

Cormac, who lives in Great Dalby, has a YouTube channel 'Cormac on Cars' in which he drives and reviews a variety of different vehicles.
