Thomas Cook has stopped trading after 178 years with jobs lost in Stamford.

Empty planes from around the world have been drafted in to bring more than 150,000 British tourists back home.

The travel firm employed 9,000 people in the UK and 12,000 globally, including 1,000 nearby in Peterborough. There is also a travel agency branch in High Street, Stamford.
