Hospice volunteers are preparing to bring some festive cheer to patients and their families this Christmas.
Regular helpers at Thorpe Hall in Peterborough will be working on Christmas Day alongside the medical team to brighten up the day for people staying there.
Head of volunteering Tracey Mealing said: “The support we receive from people at Christmas is invaluable whether it’s answering telephones, serving food and drink or helping a patient unwrap presents with their family. That kind of support enables us to bring Christmas to the hospice so it’s more like a home from home for the families.”
