Thousands flock to Stamford Christmas Festival

Thousands of people attended the Stamford Christmas Festival and Lights Switch On event which took place in the town on Sunday, November 25.

Despite a light rain falling in the late afternoon, Red Lion Square was packed with families who watched choirs from St Gilbert's and Malcolm Sargent sing carols before Father Christmas arrived on his colourful sleigh.

The festival started at 10am with stall holders selling a variety of goods, funfair rides, reindeer and live music, culminating with the lights switch on at 4.30pm.
