A hotelier, a lawyer and a retired RAF officer have been made deputy lieutenants to support the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland in his work.

Hambleton Hall owner Tim Hart, of Main Street, Market Overton, former High Sheriff of Rutland Bart Hellyer, of Ayston Road, Ridlington, and Stamford woman Jane Clayton-Jones, who now runs the Citizens Advice Bureau in Oakham, will work alongside Dr Laurence Howard, the Queen’s representative in Rutland, who is responsible for presenting awards and supporting civic events.

He said: “I look forward to working with them. I have no doubt they will all serve the county well and make a valuable contribution.”
