Steam locomotive 46233 Duchess of Sutherland and The Yorkshireman Railtour passes over Harringworth Viaduct in Rutland on Saturday October 19, 2019




A timetable has been announced of the next steam train to cross the Harringworth Viaduct over the River Welland in Rutland.

Steam locomotive 46233 Duchess of Sutherland and The Yorkshireman Railtour passes through the area on Saturday, October 19.

The event offers rail enthusiasts and photographers an opportunity to see trains against a superb backdrop, as was seen when the Flying Scotsman passed through the area in June.

Following a stop to take on water at Kettering Railway Station, approximate timings are as follows:

  • Depart Kettering 9.30am
  • Corby 9.40am
  • Gretton 9.45am
  • Harringworth Viaduct 9.47am
  • Manton Junction 9.55am
  • Oakham 10am
  • Melton Mowbray 10.20am
  • Syston Junction 10.40am

People are reminded not to trespass onto railway or private property.

The Time Travellers' room on platform 1 at Kettering station, run by Kettering Civic Society, will be open from 9am to 10.30am for people to view items of interest and get a closer look at the train.

Train times may be subject to change on the day.
