A nationally-renowned wall painting specialist Tobit Curteis will be visiting St Andrew’s Church in Lyddington to inspect its paintings.

The church boasts an exceptional set of paintings from many periods of its long history in varied conditions.

Next year, while the high clerestory windows are being prepared, the paintings will be restored.

To prepare for this work, Tobit will visit the church on Thursday and recommend what work needs to be done. That evening at 7pm, he will present his findings and anyone is welcome to attend. There is no entrance fee and refreshments will be available.

Tobit will be joined by the church architect, William Assheton, and by the educational consultant Anita Hollingshead, who is preparing material which makes these unique paintings more accessible to those who visit the church.
