A public toilet block will finally be opened tomorrow (Tuesday) after five years of planning and fundraising.
The new facility on the Recreation Ground in Stamford will open for use from 10am.
The Friends of the Rec group, which disbanded last month, raised £50,000 for the toilets through its Spend A Penny campaign.
Former chairman Penny Dawson said she was delighted the public would finally be able to use the facility.
She added: “We are very pleased the project has finally come to a conclusion and that we have public toilets that everyone can use.
“It is free, open every day and is a fully accessible facility for everyone who uses the Rec.
“It is a much-needed facility.”
Work on the toilets began in spring last year and was due to finish in July.
But several delays meant the official opening of the block was put back.
Stamford Town Council has led the building project since taking ownership of the Rec from South Kesteven District Council.
A formal opening ceremony has been put back until later in May.
