Tractor run for charity funds

About 80 tractors are expected to drive through villages around Stamford this Sunday to raise cash for good causes.

The event, which is due to begin at the Willowbrook Farm Shop, in Helpston Heath, at 11am, will see the vehicles travel through Ufford, Bainton, Helpston, Maxey, Market Deeping, Northborough, Peakirk, Newborough, Glinton and Helpston before returning to the shop.

Organised by Newborough Young Farmers’ Club, the annual tractor run has raised over £7,500 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance in the past four years.

Those driving the tractors, many of whom will be in fancy dress, have to raise at least £10 in sponsorship to take part and collections take place along the route.

Event proceeds will be split between the farmers’ club and the air ambulance.

Organisers hope it will be the best year yet.
