A MAIN road between Market Deeping and Tallington will be closed for six days.
Lincolnshire County Council is closing the A1175 between Market Deeping and the level crossing at Tallington from Monday, August 20, for resurfacing work.
Traffic will be diverted along the A15 to Bourne, along the relief road at Bourne, and on the A6121 to Stamford. There will be signs in place.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire County Council said: “We’re going to be giving the A1175 some much-needed TLC.
“This worn section of the road has suffered with numerous potholes over the last two winters, so we’ll be making long-term repairs.”
The spokesman said the closure was necessary so the work could be carried out safely.
He added: “The works are taking place during the school summer holidays when traffic volumes are lower and to minimise disruption for school transport.”
The spokesman said further repairs to the road were being planned for 2013.
He added: “We thank everyone for bearing with us whilst we make this area safer for all.”
