Fire crews attend crashes in Pointon and Market Deeping

Firefighters had to cut a man and woman out of a silver Dodge Nitro with hydraulic cutting equipment after it crashed in Pointon on Sunday.

Fire crews from Bourne and Billingborough were called to the accident involving just the one vehicle at about 8.45am.

Crews removed the roof of the car to release the pair from Wigtoft.

The female passenger was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham by ambulance with minor injuries.

During the Fire Bridge Union’s strike on Friday night fire crews were called to a two car road accident in Langtoft at 9.45pm.

A Ford Ka was severely damaged by fire following the collision with an Audi A6 which was also damaged.

The 17 year-old female driver of the Ford, from Market Deeping, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital by ambulance with a minor cut.

The male driver of the Audi, from Langtoft, was unharmed.

The road was closed for about an hour while fire crews made the scene safe.
