Police confirm death of Irish teenager after A1 lay-by crash at Woolfox

A teenager who crashed his car into a parked lorry has died.

Conor Boyle, 18, was driving a Volkswagen Passat on the A1 northbound near Woolfox when he crashed into a lorry parked in a lay-by at about 2.30am on September 7.

Mr Boyle, from County Donegal, Ireland, was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge where he died from his injuries on Friday.

Police confirmed Mr Boyle’s death yesterday afternoon (Monday).

The driver of the lorry was not hurt in the crash.

Det Con Paul Bingham, investigating, said: “The Passat left the carriageway and collided with the lorry before coming to rest in the road.

“We are continuing to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand to please contact me.”
