AN AIRCRAFT communication and navigation manufacturer has landed a contract to supply equipment to Kandahar Air Base in Afghanistan.

Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems, based in the Northfields Industrial Estate, Market Deeping, will provide a Park Air T6 air traffic control receiver for the NATO airfield.

The firm supplied the base with similar equipment in 2010 and is establishing a good relationship with NATO.

Managing director Charles Houseago said: “This contract builds on our relationship with NATO and expands the use of the Park Air T6 radio series in the Afghan military environment.”
