Woman airlifted to hospital after crash in Manton

A woman was airlifted to hospital after a collision between two cars under a railway bridge in Manton.

Emergency services were called to the A6003 near Rutland Water at about 8.30am yesterday (Thursday).

The woman had to be cut free from her vehicle by the fire service, and was airlifted to the University Hospital of Coventry in Walsgrave.

Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The man driving the other vehicle was taken to Peterborough City Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be serious.

The road was closed for about two hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Police are calling for any witnesses to the incident to call 101.
