Woman badly injured in crash in Stamford

A WOMAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Casterton Road in Stamford.

Police were called to the one-vehicle crash at midday on Saturday after a Nissan Micra ended up on its roof.

The driver of the vehicle, a 73-year-old woman from Stoke Rochford, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with serious injuries.

She was in intensive care until yesterday but is now said to be improving.

A woman passenger was not injured and no other vehicles were involved.

The road was re-opened at 4.10pm.
