Inspire Travel by Shaun to open in Abbey Road, Bourne

A new travel agency is opening its doors in Bourne on Saturday (June 5) ready for the resumption of holidays abroad.

Inspire Travel by Shaun is based at 1 Abbey Road, the former home of Co-op Travel, and is being opened by Shaun Taylor.

For the past 12 years Shaun has worked in financial and commercial roles for some of the UK’s largest travel brands, including Thomas Cook and TUI.

He was made redundant from his management position at the TUI Group when the pandemic struck.

At that point he decided “to do what he has always wanted to do” and start his own travel business, and has been developing a business plan and looking for the right location to open an agency.

“Bourne is local for me and I have done my research on what residents of the town are looking for from their local travel agent,” he said.

“I’m confident that I will be able to offer them the right holiday services, at the right prices with the best possible service.”

The agency, which is independently owned but backed by The Inspire Group, will offer weekend breaks and staycations through to overseas package holidays and cruises. Because it is independent, Shaun is not tied to an airline or tour

Shaun said: “The travel industry has been hit really hard by the pandemic over the past year, but we know there is a huge pent-up demand for travel.

“Once the ban has been lifted and more and more destinations are added to the green list, there will be a huge rush to get away.”

Bookings through the company will be fully ATOL bonded, meaning customers are completely protected should the airline, tour operator or company they are travelling with encounter financial difficulties.

“It’s more important than ever to book through a trusted travel agent for the peace of mind it gives you, especially as the world moves on from the pandemic,” said

Lisa Henning, managing director of Inspire Travel said they are delighted that Shaun is fulfilling his ambition of opening his own travel store.

“With Shaun’s vast travel knowledge, we have every confidence that he will be very successful with his new venture,” she added.

For the opening Shaun will be offering visitors to the travel store a glass of bubbly to toast its opening and a chance to win a two-night UK holiday break.
