There were decorations galore at a church’s Christmas tree festival which is growing in popularity every year.

St Michael and All Angels Church in Langtoft held its annual Christmas Tree Festival on Saturday.

The event is held in Langtoft church to help raise the profile of the village and much-needed funds.

Refreshments were available from midday until 2pm, and a variety of stalls were at the festival, selling Christmas gifts and stocking fillers.

One of the organisers is Jane Kelly, who explained: “40 Christmas trees are donated and sponsored by local businesses.

“The trees are then decorated by representatives from the businesses, and placed in the church.”

The event is always highly popular, and as Jane added: “It brings all generations into the church, and it is a particularly nice venue for local elderly residents, who can come in and have a cup of coffee.”

Christmas at the Crossroads is another annual event happening this year on Monday, December 7, where the Parish Council turn the Christmas lights on in the village, and residents are then invited back to the church afterwards.

Jane said: “After the Christmas lights, mince pies and mulled wine are served in the church, and the raffle from the Christmas Tree Festival is also drawn.

“There is no exact figure as of yet, but roughly £1,000 will be raised.”
