TENNIS rackets have been out in force at a nursery in Deeping St James.

Youngsters at Treetops Caterpillar Nursery, in Bridge Street, celebrated the Wimbledon tennis championships by dressing up in their tennis whites and hosting their own competition. It was followed by a traditional cream tea of scones, strawberry and cream.

Deputy manager Gloria Sparrow said: “This was such a wonderful day.

“All the children got involved in wearing their whites to nursery and taking part in the games. We’re sure this interest will continue beyond Wimbledon and we’re looking forward to planning events for the Olympics.”
