TRIBUTES have been paid to a respected member of the community who died last week.
Stamford AFC chairman Ken Joynson, 84, of Manor Way, Deeping St James, died in Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, on Tuesday last week.
Friends and colleagues of retired accountant Mr Joynson have paid tribute.
Joyce Gaffigan, of Caithness Road, Stamford, served with Mr Joynson on South Kesteven District Council.
She said: “He was a member of the Liberal group. I, and my comrades, will miss him dreadfully, not only for this expertise but also for the truly genuine, hard working and loving person that he was.”
Age Concern Deepings chairman Chris Knight said Mr Joynson was a founder member and former chairman of the charity.
He said: “We have good reason to be very grateful to Ken for his experience, wisdom and energy in shaping the way that Age Concern Deepings developed its services to the elderly folk of the Deepings and surrounding villages.”
