Two crashes on A1 near Stamford

EMERGENCY services were called to two crashes on the A1 on Saturday morning.

A six-vehicle collision took place near RAF Wittering at about 10.50am. The crash involved four Army vehicles and a blue Fiat Punto and a Peugeot 207. It took place on the southbound section of the road between Carpenters Lodge and Wansford.

Three people were taken to Peterborough City Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was cleared by 3.15pm.

There was also a collision between a van and a car on the A1 near Wothorpe at about 11.45am on Saturday. No one was injured and the road was cleared by 12.50am.
