Two people have been seriously injured in a collision which has closed Bridge End Road at Colsterworth this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the B6403 at 2.50pm. The road is closed and will remain so for around four hours.

The road has been closed at the Old Somersby roundabout junction and the junction with the A1.

Three vehicles are involved, a motorcycle and two cars. Two people have been taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, one by the air ambulance and the other by a land ambulance. Their injuries are described as serious.

Sgt Ewan Gell, the Senior Investigating Officer, said: “This is a very serious crash, we will be working to understand what has happened at the scene and speaking to witnesses over the next few days.

“I appreciate the road closure will cause some inconvenience and thank road users for their patience.”
