Two police officers injured trying to arrest fighting women in Wittering




Two police officers were injured while trying to arrest two women who were fighting.

Cambridgeshire Police were called at just after 1am on Saturday (June 5) to reports of a fight between two women at an address in The Limes, Wittering.

Police attended and two officers were injured while attempting to arrest the women.

One officer suffered a head injury and temporarily lost consciousness. He was taken to Peterborough City Hospital and was released later that morning having experienced concussion.

The second officer suffered a minor hand injury and did not require hospital treatment.

A 32-year-old woman from Lincoln was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and affray and a 33-year-old woman from Wittering was arrested on suspicion of affray and assault against an emergency worker.

Both women have been bailed to return to Thorpe Wood Police Station on July 3.
