Two vehicle crash on the A47 near Wansford

TWO vehicles have been involved in a crash on the A47 this morning (Friday).

The incident took place at 8.49am on the A47 outside a garage near Wansford.

It involved a Citroen Zara Picasso and another car. Both vehicles were towed from the road at 9.37am.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We arrived on scene at 8.52am and took two patients to Peterborough City Hospital.

“One was a man with injuries to his chest and wrist but not thought to be life-threatening.

“There weren’t thought to be any obvious injuries to the other driver.”

Eye-witnesses said the westbound traffic was at a standstill as far back as the A1, but the jam has now been cleared.
