“We are incredibly proud to have won this prestigious award, especially as the company celebrated its 65th birthday this year’’ said managing director Steve Ayre.

“We are incredibly grateful to have been recognised as Processor of the Year, but without the hard work and commitment of everyone here at Rutland Plastics it would not have been possible.”

Rutland Plastics is now run by the third generation of the Ayre family and has grown significantly, with new facilities, more employees and more customers who come from all sectors - from agriculture and construction to medical and utilities.

The company, which employs more than 150 staff. has enjoyed steady and sustained growth while reinvesting into the business.

This year three new moulding machines have been bought, taking the total at their site to 31. A new weekend shift was also introduced in 2021 to cover increasing demand.

With an eye on a greener future, the company installed 900 solar panels on their new warehouse in 2016, which has generated more than 800,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity.
