A YOUNG unicyclist is calling out for a new friend who would like to ride with him.

Edward Thurston, 11, of Newstead, near Stamford, has been learning to ride a unicycle since April.

He said: “We were looking in a joke shop in Wisbech on my birthday when I saw a cheap unicycle.

“I was bought it and I’ve been riding ever since.”

Edward, who is a pupil at The Deepings School in Deeping St James, is now riding a mountain unicycle which he can take off-road.

He would like someone aged 16 or below to join him because he said it will be more fun to practise with a friend.

Edward said: “It can be a bit boring doing it on your own.

“I would like someone to get involved who either wants to learn or can already ride.”

Anyone interested in riding with Edward would need to have their own unicycle.
