Update: A151 shut at Colsterworth after serious motorcycle crash

The A151 at Colsterworth has been shut in both directions this afternoon, Thursday January 28 after a serious collision.

The collision has taken place at the flyover with the A1 near Colsterwoth Service and the B676 Bourne Road.

Police were called just before 12.30pm and the collision is thought to have involved just one vehicle, a motorbike. The male rider of the bike has been seriously injured.

The road has been closed to allow for access for emergency services vehicles and for recovery work to be carried out. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes if possible.

One lane is blocked on the A1 northbound and there is slow traffic between the between B6403 High Dike (Woolsthorpe/Easton turn off) and Crabtree Road (Skillington/Stainby turn off). There is also heavy congestion on A1 to B6403 Stamford Road (Colsterworth south turn off).
