UPDATE: Air ambulance lands on A1 after serious collision between Stamford and Grantham

A serious collision closed the A1 near Tinwell to the north of Stamford this afternoon, Thursday June 2.

The collision took place on the northbound carriageway near to the A606.

One car hit the central reservation and one person suffered serious but not life threatening injures.

The air ambulance attended along with police and both carriageways were closed while it landed and took off.

There were delays in both directions, back to the Burghley turning northbound and Stretton southbound.

The road has now reopened but delays remain.
