UPDATE: Arson probe launched following Stamford bungalow fire

Police are investigating a suspected arson attack which gutted a bungalow in Stamford.

Firefighters from Stamford, Market Deeping and Grantham attended the blaze in Abbots Close shortly after 4.30pm on Saturday.

The end-of-terrace property, owned by South Kesteven District Council, is said to have suffered 70 per cent damage.

Lincolnshire Police said two Stamford men, aged 24 and 54, had been arrested on suspicion of arson and released on bail pending further enquiries.

No serious injuries were reported.
