UPDATE: Woman injured in crash on the A1 near Grantham is recovering well

A woman injured in a collision on the A1 at Great Ponton on Friday is recovering.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash between a car and a van in the evening.

Firefighters cut free a female trapped in a vehicle. She is recovering from her injuries.

Friday, May 29, 6.46pm: One lane is now open on the A1 southbound at Great Ponton near Grantham following a collision this evening, Friday May 29.

The collision involved a car and a van. One female causality has been released by fire crews from Grantham and Corby Glen and both vehicles made safe.

Police are advising motorists to avoid the area if possible while the recovery operation continues.
