Little Casterton Road closed following two vehicle collision

Two people have been admitted to hospital - one with serious injuries - following a collision on Little Casterton Road this morning (November 7).

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said police had received a call at 9am to attend the scene of the two vehicle collision near Ryhall.

"In addition to police, the ambulance and fire service were also in attendance," said the spokesman.

"Two people were taken to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment."

One suffered serious injuries while the injuries to the other person were said to not be life threatening.

The road was closed for several hours while police were on the scene.

A police spokesman had earlier said one person had received medical treatment on the side of the road while a second was trapped in their vehicle.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area as delays were expected.
