Updated: Teenage driver arrested for being under the influence of cannabis at McDonald's takeaway in Milestone Road, Bourne




A teenage driver was arrested at 12.30am today (Tuesday) for being under the influence of drugs at McDonald's in Bourne, police have said.

The 17-year-old male was also caught in possession of a controlled substance at the popular fast-food takeaway in Milestone Road.

Inspector Ian Martin, based at Stamford, said: "The circumstances were that officers observed the vehicle being driven and could smell cannabis coming from the vehicle.

"Upon speaking to the driver and completion of a drug wipe he tested positive for being under the influence of drugs."

He added: "He was also found to be in possession of a small quantity of cannabis.

"He has been issued a cannabis warning for the possession of the drugs.

"He was released under investigation pending results of the analysis of his blood to determine evidentially if he is over the limit."
