Uppingham Town Council set to honour The Royal Anglian Regiment at ceremony

Uppingham Town Council is to bestow a unique honour upon the 2nd Battalion of The Royal Anglian Regiment during a spectacular ceremony tomorrow (Tuesday).

The battalion, based at Kendrew Barracks, in Cottesmore, will be granted the Freedom of Entry to Uppingham, from 10.15am in the Market Place.

It will be the first time such an honour has been awarded and reflects the town’s strong connections with the town.

The parade will step off from the science block at Uppingham School at 10.30am and will take the salute in the Market Place at about 10.45am. The presentation will take place at 11am.
