Uppingham Fatstock Show, one of the most prestigious events in the town's calendar, takes place on Wednesday
The 113th Uppingham Christmas Fatstock Show takes place in the Market Place, Uppingham, on Wednesday, November 27.
This unique show is the only event of its kind in the UK still held in temporary penning in a town market square.
Although the weekly fatstock market finished in 1954, the annual fatstock show has continued and remains one of the most prestigious events in the town’s calendar.

It’s a chance for people of all ages to get close to the area’s best cattle, sheep and pigs. Livestock to be exhibited will arrive from 7am, with judging taking place at about 10am. Presentation of challenge cups and special prizes will take place at 11.30am, followed by a public auction of the pigs and sheep at midday.
Fatstock show committee chairman Charlie Mason said: “Livestock entries for all classes are high for what should once again prove to be an excellent show.”
