Memorial train sweeps through Stamford

Rail enthusiasts were treated to a flying visit by the Nigel Dobbing Memorial Train which steamed through Stamford Railway Station on Sunday, March 17.

The 1945-built steam locomotive 35018 British India Line was pulling the train in tribute to Mr Dobbing, a leading figure in the heritage rail industry who set up the King’s Lynn-based Railway Touring Company.

On board were about 80 members of his family, friends, colleagues and people who supported him over the years.
