Television presenter Catherine Gee has teamed up with an interior shop to create a room for a national design show.
Catherine, who presented BBC2’s Escape to the Country, was asked to come up with a set for the Country Living Magazine Spring Fair, at the Business Design Centre in London from March 20 to 24.
Catherine, who lives near Bourne, wanted to give show visitors a room they could recreate themselves. So she worked with local businesses and in particular Chez Soi in St Mary’s Street, Stamford.
“It is very frustrating looking at a room set when you can’t do it yourself,” she said. “I was so keen to work with the shop because from looking at the room you can walk around the corner and buy pieces from the stand, order online or directly from the shop.”
Catherine hopes to create a fresh room set with a springtime feel using a mix of items. Many of the furniture pieces available in Chez Soi use recycled materials, including a dining table made from scaffolding pieces.
Catherine added: “It will be centred around the table with other bit of furniture.
“This will be set off by a lot of spring colours and flowers.
“It is close to Easter so I have some ideas for dressing the table for an Easter meal.”
Roger and Sue Growcott, who own Chez Soi, have been more than happy to help Catherine with her design.
The shop is also offering a discount code for customers who want to go to the Country Living Magazine Spring Fair and see Catherine’s design.
