Lidl opens public consultation on plan for supermarket in Peterborough Road, Market Deeping
Supermarket giant Lidl has announced plans for a new store and is asking residents for their views.
The chain has earmarked a field east of Peterborough Road in Market Deeping for the site of a new 1,414m² supermarket with parking for 129 vehicles.
Lidl GB’s regional head of property, Andrew Hodgkinson, said: “We are extremely excited about the prospect of opening a new Lidl store in Market Deeping and serving our fresh, quality and incredibly good value produce which shoppers across the country have come to love.
“Our plans are set to create around 40 jobs which would be fantastic for the local community, and we hope that as many people as possible are able to join us for this ‘virtual’ public consultation.
“We look forward to sharing and discussing our plans with everyone.”
People are being invited to comment on the proposal through a website or through a leaflet which is being delivered to local properties in the area.
If granted, the development would have an instore bakery and customer toilet, as well as six disabled parking bays, nine parent and child spaces as well as two rapid electric vehicle charging spaces.
There would be covered bicycle parking and the building roof will be mounted with solar panels.
