A village church has been plundered by lead thieves.

St Andrew's Church in Billingborough had a large amount of lead stolen from its roof sometime overnight between Tuesday (December 3) and Wednesday (December 4).

Lincolnshire Police are urging people living around churches to be vigilant as it is 'extremely likely' the unknown offenders will return and the possibility that other churches may be targeted.

Anyone with information should call Lincolnshire Police on 101 and quote reference 19000652897.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 and call 999 immediately if you see anything suspicious around churches.
