Villagers go to the polls over radioactive waste

Have your say

VILLAGERS will be going to the polls tomorrow to have their say on plans to bury low level radioactive waste at a tip.

Twelve villages in Northamptonshire took part in a referendum yesterday against Augean’s plans to dump waste at its Kings Cliffe site.

The referendums have been organised by protest group Local Democracy in Action. Members hope the poll will send a message to government minister Eric Pickles when he makes a decision in May following a planning inquiry in November.
