Grimsthorpe Vintage Speed Trials return for 2019

Vintage Speed Trials return to the grounds of Grimsthorpe Castle on Saturday, August 24.

The Lincolnshire Automobile Club gathered at Grimsthorpe for the first time to test their vehicles in 1903.

Fast forward to 2019 when Vintage Speed Trials return to a place that has such close ties to historic racing, continuing a fantastic tradition of British motorsport in the area. T W Mays, father of international racing driver Raymond Mays, raced at this very venue in 1904.

This year spectators will be closer than ever to the action.

The paddock is trackside and there will be opportunities to look under the bonnet of a 1920s Bugatti or a rare Aston Martin.

Visitors will be transported back to the pre-war period of British motor racing as cars and motorcycles are tested three times on the ½ mile track.
