Virus leaves backlog of babies unregistered in Stamford, Rutland, Bourne and the Deepings
Coronavirus has left a three-month backlog of unregistered babies born during lockdown, which is now being dealt with by registrars.
The number of births unregistered in Lincolnshire totals 1,200 to date, while in Rutland the figure is believed to be between 50 and 60.
Lincolnshire County Council, which is responsible for registering births and deaths in the county, will be using a team of staff to contact parents to book appointments.
