THE organiser of a fete is pleased with the success of the event.

Peter Sauntson hosted the fete in the Hermitage Garden in High Street, Collyweston, on Saturday.

Dozens of villagers enjoyed a barbecue, bar, teas and cakes.

There was also a tombola, a separate bottle tombola, a range of stalls, a raffle and traditional games for all the family.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the village church and Mr Sauntson said proceeds from this year’s event were still being counted, but the event usually raises about £1,000.

He said: “It was a very successful event, particularly with the sunny weather.

“There were plenty of people there and I am sure they all enjoyed themselves.”
