DEDICATED volunteers ensured housebound pensioners did not miss out on a hot meal during the festive period by turning out in the snow.
The Evergreen Care Trust runs a soup service for elderly people in Stamford.
Thanks to a group of valiant volunteers, Vincent O’Shea, Alan Fenwyck, Martin Balderstone, Mary Coles and Bev O’Shea, pensioners enjoyed tucking into a hot meal on a snowy Christmas Eve.
The group of volunteers made 14 deliveries of soup, homemade rolls and mince pies.
Founder of the care trust Louise Marsh has thanked the group for turning out.
She said: “We couldn’t do this without them. They are absolutely wonderful people with how they care and give up their time and energy.
“The users are appreciative. They love having a delivery and they have become friends.
“I would like to thank the cooks.”
