Volunteers are needed at a new British Red Cross centre.
The Stamford, Bourne and Deepings branches of the Red Cross have joined forces at a new centre in Langtoft.
The new centre will be used by about 50 volunteers and staff from across South Lincolnshire. Red Cross volunteers in South Lincolnshire are involved in delivering first aid at events, support at home, helping communities prepare for and recover from emergencies, and first aid training in the community.
The new centre has a large training room to support the provision of volunteers and help the team cope with an increase in demand for services.
In Stamford, the former home of the Red Cross in Maiden Lane has closed but the charity will continue to provide mobility aids from the Disabled Living Centre in Ryhall Road.
British Red Cross centre organiser for the new Langtoft building Trevor Hollinshead said: “We are really excited about our new Red Cross centre in Langtoft, and it’s a great time to find out more about
getting involved and becoming a volunteer.
“Our existing volunteers in Bourne will remain active as always in the town, but now they have a fit-for-purpose centre that is within easy reach and will be a fantastic place for training and other events.”
