With the number of people living with cancer set to double in the next 15 years, Macmillan Cancer Support needs the support of local volunteers more than ever.

The charity is currently appealing for friendly and passionate volunteers who live in the Deepings and the surrounding area, who can help spare an hour or two a week to represent Macmillan in the local area and help make collections on their behalf.

The opportunity is flexible and can fit around someone’s free time and personal commitments. Volunteers would help to seek out opportunities to hold collections for Macmillan, whilst helping to collect and pay in the valuable funds which can make a real difference to those affected by cancer.

Macmillan relies on donations to help support those affected by cancer. Not only helping patients who live with cancer, but also helping carers, families and communities.

Local fundraising manager, Jess Levin hopes to encourage the people of Deeping and the surrounding area to help such a rewarding cause.

She said: “Macmillan is such a worthwhile cause and people really do have a lot of fun volunteering for us in the community.

“We would just love to hear from anyone who has time, whether it’s a couple of hours a year or a week, it really doesn’t matter, we just need the extra help.”

All volunteers will receive an induction and full training needed to complete the role.
