Voters set to choose police boss and new councillor

Voters will go to the polls tomorrow (Thursday) to choose new Police and Crime Commissioner for the areas and to select a district councillor in a by-election.

The elections take place on Thursday and polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm.

Standing for the Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner role are: Victoria Ayling (UKIP), Marc Jones (Con), Lucinda Preston (Lab) and Daniel Simpson (Lincolnshire Independents).

They will replace Independent Alan Hardwick.

In Leicestershire, the candidates are: Lord Willy Bach (Lab), Neil Bannister (Con), Sarah Hill (Lib Dem) and David Sprason (UKIP), replacing Sir Clive Loader (Con).

A South Kesteven district councillor vacancy has also arisen on the Deeping St James ward and a by-election will be held to fill the seat.

Those standing are: Steve Benn (Con), Adam Brookes (Lib Dem), Lisa Holmes (Lab) and Gerhard Lohmann-Bond (Green Party).
