More than 400 people took part in an annual charity walk at Grimsthorpe Castle.

Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Walk Ten event returned to the venue and walkers from across the country turned out to take part.

The sponsored 10-mile walk raises funds for the charity’s nursing care and organisers are hopeful that this year’s event raised more than £20,000.

David Hedges, the charity’s event fundraiser for the region, said: “Walk Ten was a wonderful occasion. The rain stayed away and there was a fantastic atmosphere amongst the participants.

“We were very lucky to have fantastic support from our amazing volunteers.

“We wouldn’t have been able to put the event on without them.”
